Log Shipping over T1

I have no experience with log shipping, but we are considering setting this
up between two locations connected by a T1. There is other traffic over the
T1, and we don't want to impact performance for these other services (intern
et, intranet, etc.).
There are approximately 75 users making entries and changes all day long, so
I'm not sure how heavily the log shipping process will use the T1, can anyo
ne give me any advice or pointers?
Thanks for your help.
Also, where can I find pricing for upgrading a SQL 2000 standard (dual proce
ssor license) to Enterprise?The cost will be the cost of copying the transaction logs across the T1
line... Check the current size of your log backups ...

Thanks to Wayne's information. As for your question of the pricing of
upgrade, from what I can tell this question is a non-technical issue and
would probable be best answered from someone from the sales and marketing
department of the SQL Server. For more information, please visit the

Thanks.

Thanks for your assistance on this. I assume that the more frequently the lo
g back ups are done, the smaller the files are that will be copied...
Tom|||Baisong,
Thanks for your help. Would you be able to tell me what the process is to ac
tually upgrade the standard version to enterprise? Would I be able to use th
e existing installation, or would I have to re-install?
Thanks|||Yes.

Note that you don't have to use EE in order to do log shipping. The built in
log shipping requires EE, but a
lot of people use their home-grown log shipping code (search (google etc) an
d you will find), and we also
included log shipping in Db Maint.

r resource kit for log shipping. Have you tried that?|||Hi Tom,
I'm not a DBA but I am the producer for the SQL Server website. You'll find information
